Body kit to transform a Camaro

While the idea of a body kit to transform a Camaro into a Firebird sounds pretty cool to us, we're a little disappointed that the finished product won't quite resemble the original design. The quad headlights, long a staple of Firebird design and included on the concept, are gone in favor of retaining the stock Camaro headlights, albeit slightly revised with the new grille. It's more than likely that DOT regulations required it, but we'll miss them anyway, along with the T-Tops. At least we still get the Screaming Chicken and the side vents.

The full conversion package will include new front and rear fascias, the fender vents, a new hood with Shaker scoop, a new rear spoiler, new tail lights, a split-tip quad exhaust, classic Snowflake wheels sized in a modern 20 inches, a one- to one-and-a-half-inch drop, a new sway bar and the Trans Am graphics. Inside, you'll get aluminum trim, badges on the door panels, embroidered headrests and center console lid and, of course, a special Trans Am numbered plaque. No performance upgrades have been announced yet, but Trans Am Depot says they're coming. A price hasn't been revealed yet, either, but if you're dying for a new Firebird, you'll find a way to make it happen.
